
Several reactions have trailed the comment that was made by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar after the President of Christian Association of Nigeria, Archbishop Daniel Okoh asked Federal Government to declare state of emergency.
The reaction of Atiku Abubakar was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.
This is coming after THE GUARDIAN reported that Archbishop Daniel Okoh asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to declare state of emergency on security in Nigeria.
Here is what the President of CAN said;
“CAN condemns in the strongest terms the barbaric acts of murder, beheading, torture, abduction and forced displacement being perpetrated against innocent citizens, and called on the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on security across the country”.
However, Atiku Abubakar has now shared his thoughts after the report surfaced online. In a post that he shared on his official X handle, he said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should listen to the Christian Association of Nigeria.
Here is what Atiku Abubakar wrote on his official X handle;
“On behalf of the political opposition whom Tinubu has ignored as well as the Nigerian people, I urge Tinubu to listen to this urgent call from CAN and diligently ponder his courses of action beyond rhetorics, at least for his remaining months in office”.
