The former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has taken to her official X account on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 to react to claim that she has been silent on the issue of the abduction of some children in Oyo state.
Her statement came after an X user said she protested when Chibok Girls were kidnapped but stayed silent when students were kidnapped in Oyo state.
According to the X user;
“Dear Oby Ezekwesili, I have great respect for you but on this, you’re culpable. In 2015, you staged a #BringBackOurGirls protest for the Chibok Girls. How come you’re quiet about recent kidnaps? Can’t you mobilize again for a protest?”.
Reacting, Oby Ezekwesili stated that she has never stopped demanding for accountability from the government.
She said recently, she was on the streets advocating for electoral reforms.
According to Oby Ezekwesili on his official X account;
“I have never stopped demanding accountability from all governments of Nigeria including the one I worked for where my work exemplified public accountability”.
