In this interview with The Punch, the founder and pioneer National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, Ralph Nwosu, explained that prior to the current developments, the party had experienced internal challenges, which he attributed to Dumebi Kachikwu, and Nafi’u Bala.
When asked whether Bala was part of the various meetings he mentioned, he responded that Bala was fully involved and did not miss any of the meetings, noting that there were records to support this, including those of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He explained that when Bala went to court to make certain claims, one of the documents presented was from INEC, which, according to him, confirmed that Bala had participated in all the proceedings. He added that INEC had clear records of his involvement but claimed that, more recently, there were reports suggesting that INEC had reversed its earlier position after Bala initiated further disputes.
One hundred per cent, yes. There was no meeting he missed. The records are there. INEC records are there. When Bala went to court claiming something, one of the documents that was presented in the court was the one that INEC wrote.
He said, “INEC presented a case against Bala that it was there and that Bala participated in everything. INEC had their record. But recently, we heard that INEC had gone back on what they presented when Bala started this troublesome thing.”
