The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its timetable and schedule of activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, with primary elections fixed for May 2026.
According to a report by Premium Times, the schedule outlines key activities including the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms, screening of aspirants, appeals, and the conduct of primaries for all elective positions.
The party said the timetable is in line with the 1999 Constitution as amended, the Electoral Act 2026, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) revised election schedule. It added that the move reflects its commitment to credible and transparent internal processes.
The process will begin with the issuance of a formal notice of election to state chapters, followed by the sale of forms at the party’s national secretariat. The sale is scheduled to run from April 25 to May 2, while submission of completed forms will close on May 4.
Screening of aspirants for State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, and governorship positions will take place from May 6 to May 8, while presidential aspirants will be screened on May 9.
The APC said screening results will be released on May 11, after which aggrieved aspirants will be allowed to file appeals on May 12 and May 13.

State House of Assembly primaries are slated for May 21 and May 22, while the governorship primary will take place on May 23.
The party also outlined dates for appeals arising from the primaries, starting with the presidential category on May 18 and ending with governorship appeals on May 25.
In addition, the APC released the cost of nomination and expression of interest forms for aspirants. Those seeking State House of Assembly tickets will pay N1 million for expression of interest and N5 million for nomination forms. House of Representatives aspirants will pay N1 million and N9 million respectively, while senatorial aspirants are to pay N3 million and N17 million.
Governorship aspirants will pay N10 million for expression of interest and N40 million for nomination forms, while presidential aspirants will pay N30 million and N70 million respectively.
The party, however, announced concessions for female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities, stating that they will only pay for the expression of interest forms and 50 percent of the nomination fees.
According to the INEC timetable, the presidential and National Assembly elections will be held as part of the 2027 general elections, with political parties expected to conclude their primaries well ahead of the official schedule.
