According to a report by The Daily Post on Sunday, May 3, 2026, Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has weighed in on the recent departure of Peter Obi from the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Taking to his verified X handle on Sunday, the presidential spokesman claimed that this move was predictable and that he had accurately forecasted it months ago.
Bwala reminded his followers that he had stated as far back as six months ago that the former Labour Party candidate would not contest the 2027 presidential election under the ADC banner.
With Obi officially announcing his exit, Bwala noted that his prediction has now come to fruition, labeling the development as a validation of his earlier stance on the politician’s movements.
In his statement, Bwala also took a swipe at Peter Obi’s supporters and certain media personalities. He pointed out the silence from “Obi’s propagandists” regarding the reasons for the exit, suggesting a double standard in how political news is discussed.
He specifically mentioned journalist Rufai Oseni, implying that critics are often quick to attack government officials but slow to scrutinize the inconsistencies of opposition figures.
Peter Obi’s resignation from the ADC comes amid reports of internal friction and leadership divisions within the party.
Obi cited these crises as the primary reason for his exit, mirroring the circumstances that led to his departure from the Labour Party previously.
As the 2027 political landscape continues to shift, Bwala’s comments highlight the deepening rivalry and the intense scrutiny surrounding the movements of major political players in Nigeria.
