Televangelist Joshua Iginla has called on people to become more intentional about their health, arguing that many medical conditions are caused by avoidable lifestyle habits rather than spiritual attacks.
In a sermon aired on Joshua Iginla Ministries on June 22, 2026, he expressed concern that many individuals depend excessively on prayer while ignoring practical steps needed to maintain good health. He said this attitude often leads people to suffer from preventable illnesses.
Iginla stated that some health challenges arise because people fail to observe basic wellness routines, choosing instead to seek divine healing after the damage has already been done.
He emphasized the importance of exercise, discipline, and moderation as essential components of a healthy lifestyle.
He cited former Nigerian leader Olusegun Obasanjo as an example of someone who has managed a medical condition responsibly while maintaining an active lifestyle.
According to him, Obasanjo has lived with diabetes for many years but continues to exercise regularly, which he credited for helping him maintain good health and longevity.
The preacher stressed that consistent discipline plays a major role in sustaining good health outcomes and encouraged people to combine spiritual practices with responsible personal habits.
He further warned younger audiences against neglecting their health, noting that poor lifestyle choices and inactivity can result in serious consequences over time.
