Social media users have taken to their official X account to react to the statement that was made by former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ordered 1,000 forest guards to confront bandits.
This came after school children and teachers were abducted by bandits in the Oriire Local Govenment Area of Oyo state.
According to THE GUARDIAN, after the incident, President Bola Tinubu approved the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards for Oyo state and ordered the deployment of a specialised rescue.
Reacting, the former governor of Anambra state condemned the abduction of the school children and teachers in Oyo state.
According to Peter Obi on his official X account;
“Meanwhile, amid all these tragic developments, we politicians remain consumed by the next election, paying far more attention to political ambitions than to the safety and well-being of our children and fellow citizens”.
