AAC presidential candidate and activist Omoyele Sowore has dismissed the idea that President Bola Tinubu is among the world’s best political strategists, saying he shook his head when that claim was made during an Arise News interview.
Speaking during the interview, Sowore made this statement while outlining his security plan if elected president, stating that short-term measures must include pursuing and eliminating armed groups hiding across the country.
He said Nigeria needs proper equipment, technology, and honest military and police leadership focused on actual combat rather than political matters in Abuja. He criticized the police for harassing citizens over social media posts instead of providing internal security.
Sowore said if he becomes president, he will rely heavily on drones as his minister of defense, running a control center to track and neutralize terrorists. He insisted he is not running for president just to shape debate but to win.
He said Nigerians who want competent and visionary leadership can use their voter cards to vote massively. He argued that even his critics do not doubt the fact that he knows what he’s doing. He said the poverty and corruption in Nigeria resulted from years of political compromise, and he’s not going to comprise and form a coalition with other political figures.
He stated that building a coalition of the oppressed among the 93 million registered voters is the path forward. Sowore said the focus should be on mobilizing voters to choose a different kind of leadership rather than accepting the status quo.
In his words, “No, I’m just saying that we have enough people in the pool of voters who can vote right. And what we need to be saying, and we must keep pushing, is for them to vote right and to say, look, there’s someone who is different.”
“I was shaking my head, by the way, when you were saying that Tinubu was the best political strategist in the world.”
