Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has issued a stark warning that it will unveil military capabilities the “enemy cannot even imagine” if the conflict with the United States and Israel resumes, according to Iranian state media reports.
IRGC spokesperson Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi told state-aligned news outlets that Tehran has not yet deployed many of its weapons and tactics and that further escalation could bring previously unseen combat systems and strategies into play. “We have not yet used our capabilities and if the war continues, we will unveil capabilities that the enemy does not have any perception about,” Mohebbi said.
The Guard’s remarks were released amid ongoing tensions after a lengthy ceasefire and months of confrontation between Iran, the United States, and Israel. The semi-official Fars news agency published Mohebbi’s comments, which also highlighted plans to introduce new warfare techniques that adversaries would struggle to counter.
Iran’s Defence Ministry has backed the IRGC’s message, saying that the country’s strategic reserves — including missiles, drones, and other equipment — have been replenished and are ready should hostilities resume. The ministry spokesperson added that Iran’s logistical and defence support remains robust, reinforcing Tehran’s readiness for continued operations.
The warning comes shortly after U.S. forces began a naval blockade of Iranian ports and coastal areas, a move ordered by President Donald Trump following breakdowns in peace negotiations. Tehran has called the blockade illegal and a provocation that risks reigniting conflict.
Iran and U.S. delegates previously held extended negotiations in Islamabad aimed at de-escalation, but major differences over sanctions, maritime access, and nuclear issues stalled progress. As diplomatic efforts continue in parallel with such military warnings, regional observers are concerned that rhetoric from both sides could hinder prospects for a lasting peace.
