As reported by the Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Ruth Kadiri shared the story of how she met her husband, mentioning that she felt a divine confirmation about their connection on their very first encounter.
In a recent interview with DANG, the Nollywood actress stated that marriage was never something she actively sought or envisioned for herself.
She pointed out that she had never experienced societal or personal pressure to get married, explaining that the concept of marriage was not a priority for her at that time.
Kadiri also revealed that when she first met her husband, she did not feel an immediate attraction or desire to pursue a relationship with him.
However, despite her initial hesitation, she eventually reconsidered and chose to give him a chance.
Reflecting on her mindset at the time, she said, “I’ve never really been the girl who sits down and thinks about marriage. It wasn’t a thing for me. I didn’t even know whether I was going to marry. I knew I was a catch and anyone that was going to marry me was going to be lucky.”
She recounted a crucial moment that transformed her life.
As she was about to leave him, she felt what she interpreted as divine guidance urging her to stay with him.
“Just as I was about to walk away, the Spirit of God told me he’s my husband. Two days later, I blocked him, but he made a significant effort to locate me. Four months later, he proposed, and I said yes,” she shared.
Her narrative emphasizes an unforeseen path to marriage, influenced by her personal beliefs and what she considers spiritual intervention.
