The Blue Sharks of Cape Verde have made World Cup history after they became the first debutants unbeaten after two rounds of matches.
Cape Verde pegged back Uruguay to a thrilling 2-2 draw in their second group game after they held European champions Spain to a scoreless draw in their first match.
Coach Bubista was proud of what his team have so far achieved at the World Cup.
“I want to congratulate the team and all our people for the way we played, with heart,” he praised.
“We finished the match under great difficulty, with many players already suffering from cramps. But our team was brave throughout the match, always looking to win, and that makes us very happy.
“We must be satisfied with what we achieved.”
Their final group game will be against Saudi Arabia at the weekend and a result could lift them to the knockout rounds of competition.
