According to a report by on Nigerian Tribune Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District and Turaki of Ilorin Emirate, Saliu Mustapha, has declared that the All Progressives Congress remains the dominant political force in Nigeria, describing the ruling party as “the party to beat.”
The senator made the remarks while addressing journalists during his arrival in Ilorin ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
Mustapha received a large crowd of supporters and residents who gathered to welcome him to the state capital.
The senator described the reception as overwhelming and said it reflected the genuine love and support he continues to enjoy from the people of Kwara State.
The gathering drew supporters from different parts of the state, with many accompanying his convoy through major areas of Ilorin.
Speaking during the interaction with journalists, the lawmaker reaffirmed his confidence in the APC, insisting that the ruling party still enjoys strong grassroots support across the country and within Kwara State.
According to him, the APC remains unmatched in the political landscape of the state due to its structure, achievements and connection with the people at the grassroots level.
Mustapha also commended party supporters and residents of Kwara for their loyalty and continued support.
He stated that the warm reception he received was deeply appreciated and showed the strong relationship that exists between him and the people he represents.
He added that the display of affection from residents further encouraged him to continue serving the people diligently.
He said, “The love I have been shown by the people of Kwara is beyond what words can express. It is something I feel deeply within me. May Allah continue to bless our community and Kwara State.”
