An All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for the House of Representatives election in Akoko North Federal Constituency of Ondo State, Olaleye John Adedipe, has expressed concern over his disqualification from the race.
He expressed worry about why he was disqualified by the screening committee of the APC.
Adedipe said he was surprised by the timing of the decision, which came as the primary election was underway, and that he was not allowed to address the screening panel before the voting process started.
Nevertheless, he affirmed his loyalty to the APC and the party’s internal processes.
He said: “As a loyal party member and a committed servant of our people, I accept the party’s procedures and will await the outcome of the review by the National Working Committee.
“I have confidence in the leadership of our party and in the capacity of our leaders to ensure a fair and transparent outcome,” he added.
He appealed to stakeholders across the state to remain calm and to avoid actions that could inflame the already tense political atmosphere in the state.
Also, Adedipe urged the party’s leadership to conduct a thorough and timely review of the screening process so that all outstanding issues could be resolved.
He congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his emergence as the presidential candidate of the APC, expressing his readiness to work for his victory at the polls.
