Southern Youth Coalition Pledges Support for Tinubu’s 2027 Reelection
The Coalition of Southern Nigeria Youth Groups for Asiwaju 2027 (COSONYGA-2027) has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu following his victory at the just-concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a statement signed by its Executive Director, Rikki Nwajiofor, the coalition described Tinubu’s emergence as the APC presidential candidate as a reflection of the confidence party members have in his leadership and administration.
The group stated that the President’s victory at the primaries demonstrated what it called his “visionary leadership” and “political sagacity,” adding that APC members believe he remains capable of steering Nigeria toward continued growth and development.
According to the coalition, Tinubu’s policies under the Renewed Hope Agenda have already begun producing positive results in critical sectors of the economy.
The statement highlighted economic reforms introduced by the administration, including the removal of fuel subsidy, the unification of foreign exchange rates, increased non-oil revenue generation, and ongoing infrastructure projects across the country.
COSONYGA-2027 also pointed to major projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and other road developments as signs of the administration’s commitment to national development.
The coalition further praised initiatives targeted at young Nigerians, including the student loan programme under the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and other youth empowerment initiatives.
The group noted that Tinubu had shown interest in youth inclusion by appointing several young Nigerians into cabinet and strategic government positions.
“We are particularly excited by his deliberate inclusion of young Nigerians in governance, which gives us great hope for the future,” the statement read in part.
COSONYGA-2027 reaffirmed its commitment to mobilizing support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, promising to rally millions of youths across Southern Nigeria and other parts of the country in support of his reelection bid.
The coalition expressed confidence that Tinubu would consolidate on ongoing reforms and developmental projects if reelected for a second term.
