The Governor of Kaduna State and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Campaign Council for the Ekiti State Governorship Election, Uba Sani, has congratulated Biodun Oyebanji on his overwhelming victory in the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, describing the outcome as a clear endorsement of effective leadership and progressive governance.
In a statement issued following the declaration of results, Sani said Oyebanji’s emphatic victory, secured with 319,224 votes, reflected the confidence reposed in him by the people of Ekiti State and affirmed his administration’s commitment to development, inclusiveness, and good governance.
According to the APC campaign council chairman, the resounding mandate demonstrates the electorate’s support for continuity and the consolidation of the achievements recorded under the Oyebanji administration.
He noted that the outcome was a strong indication that the people of Ekiti had chosen stability, progress, and sustained development.
Sani also congratulated the people of Ekiti State for what he described as a wise and forward-looking decision, saying their support for the governor underscored their faith in a leadership style that prioritises the welfare and aspirations of citizens.
The Kaduna governor further attributed the success of APC-led administrations across the country to the supportive environment created by the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said the President’s reforms and strategic interventions had strengthened the capacity of state governments to deliver meaningful dividends of democracy and accelerate socio-economic development.
Commending stakeholders involved in the electoral process, Sani praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, election observers, the media, and other participants for ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and credible poll.
He urged opposition parties and candidates who contested the election to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and work with the governor in the interest of the state’s continued growth and prosperity.
Sani also expressed satisfaction with the performance of the APC National Campaign Council, thanking fellow governors, members of the National Assembly, party officials, and council members for their commitment and collective efforts toward securing the party’s victory.
He concluded by wishing Governor Oyebanji and the people of Ekiti State greater peace, progress, and prosperity in the years ahead.
