During an interview with Channels Television on Monday, June 22, 2026, Ayo Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, has threatened to sabotage the governorship ambition of Seyi Makinde in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Ekiti State.
According to reports, Ayo Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, has long been on bad terms with Governor Seyi Makinde as both parties struggle for the control of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
However, during the interview, Ayo Fayose, a former governor of Ekiti State, vowed to work against Governor Seyi Makinde, accusing the Oyo State governor of snatching his structures in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Fayose emphasized that the proverbs of a Yoruba man say too many enemies will destroy a wise man, and so Governor Makinde has a long walk with him.
