
Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Ali Isa JC, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The move was disclosed in a letter to the party’s chairman at the Kindiyo Ward, Cham, Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State, dated 14th April, 2026.
Titled “Letter of Resignation From The PDP”, the lawmaker wrote; “Respectfully, I write to tender my resignation from the membership
of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.
“My decision is compelled by the way and manner some undemocratic forces have hijacked the party for reasons that are contrary to the founding principles and philosophy of the party which created a factional leadership.
“Consequently,after a series of rigorous consultations with my family,political associates,friends, and relevant stakeholders, I
have arived at the conclusion that the path to my political future, as well as the political future of the great people who gave me their mandate to represent them at the House of Representatives lies outside the PDP.
“It is my firm belief that the people of my constituency deserve a platform on which their interests and political future wil be better
guaranfeed.
“I wish to sincerely thank its leadership and membership for giving me the platform on which the people of Balanga/Billri Federal Constituency gave me the wonderful opportunity to represent them at the National Assembly. I will ever remain grateful, and wish you all the best.”
