Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, has described his overwhelming victory in Saturday’s governorship election as “the beautiful face of an absolute consensus,” expressing gratitude to residents for what he called a historic endorsement of his administration.
Oyebanji, who was declared winner of the election after securing victory in all 16 local government areas of the state, said the outcome demonstrated the confidence Ekiti people have in his government’s commitment to continuity, stability and human development.
In a statement shared on his X handle on Sunday, the governor thanked voters for turning out peacefully to cast their ballots and for giving his administration an overwhelming mandate.
“This is the beautiful face of an absolute consensus. I am profoundly grateful to every single citizen who walked into a polling unit yesterday to cast their vote for continuity and stability,” he wrote.
Oyebanji noted that his clean sweep across the state’s 16 local government areas and the reported 85 per cent share of the popular vote reflected an unprecedented level of unity among the electorate.
“By delivering a clean sweep across all 16 local governments and entrusting us with 85 per cent of the popular vote, you have shattered records and built an unbreakable wall of unity,” he stated.
According to the governor, the election result showed that governance driven by inclusiveness, grassroots engagement and human development could transcend political divisions and foster consensus among the people.
“This historic milestone proves that when governance is inclusive, personal, and focused entirely on human development, it unites everyone across all political lines,” he added.
Oyebanji further appreciated residents for their orderly conduct during the election and for believing in what he described as a homegrown vision for the state’s development.
He pledged to remain a servant leader and continue working to safeguard the future of Ekiti people while expanding opportunities and prosperity across the state.
“This massive victory belongs to you. As we transition into this next chapter, I promise to remain your servant leader, working tirelessly every single day to protect your future and expand our state’s prosperity,” the governor said.
He accompanied the message with the hashtags #ThankYouEkiti, #HistoricConsensus, #TheBAOStandard, #OmoluabiSpirit and #SustainedStability.
