Hassan Oladimeji, the governorship candidate of the Kabiru Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, has declared that he is no longer associated with the faction linked to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, according to report by PUNCH on Sunday June 7 2026.
Oladimeji, while reacting to his suspension by the Magaji Ngeri Ward leadership amid the ongoing internal crisis within the PDP, Oladimeji said the party is presently divided into two major camps—the Wike-led faction and the Turaki-led faction.
He stated that although he was previously aligned with the Wike camp through his political affiliations, he has since severed ties with the group and is now fully committed to the faction led by Kabiru Turaki.
According to Oladimeji, he no longer considers himself a member of the Wike faction and now identifies exclusively with the Turaki camp.
He said, “By my political association, I’ve been a member of the Wike faction. But I have since left them. I am no longer part of them. So, I belong to the Turaki camp.”
