Amid reports of a possible defection by the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, a prominent politician and grassroots mobiliser, Dr Yakubu Adamu, has declared his total support for the Governor, stating that he and members of his political movement are ready to follow him to any political party he chooses.
The declaration was contained in a statement signed by Hon. Mahmoud Abba Yana, the former Executive Chairman of Shira Local Government Area, on behalf of Dr Yakubu Adamu and his political movement groups.
The statement said the group considered it necessary to address recent political developments and consultations involving Governor Bala Mohammed, describing him as a leader whose administration has inspired confidence, unity, and purposeful governance in Bauchi State and beyond.
It reaffirmed the movement’s loyalty, respect, and solidarity with the Governor at what it described as a critical moment in the political journey of the state.
The group also praised Bala Mohammed’s commitment to the welfare of citizens, infrastructural development, and inclusive leadership, stating that these qualities have earned him widespread trust and admiration.
“As a visionary leader and statesman, his decisions are always guided by the overriding interest of peace, progress, and prosperity of our people,” the statement noted.
Addressing reports of ongoing political realignments across the country, the group stated that Dr Yakubu Adamu and all members of his movement would stand firmly with the Governor in any political decision he may take, including joining another political party.
“Our support is total, unconditional, and resolute,” the statement added.
The group further urged its supporters and the people of Bauchi State to remain calm, united, and supportive as political consultations continue.
It described the declaration as a reflection of shared vision, mutual trust, and collective determination to build a stronger and more prosperous future for Bauchi State and Nigeria.
