It is a time of congratulations for Nigerian up-and-coming singer, Samuel Ojeogwu, better known as Sammy West, and his wife, as they celebrate their second year wedding anniversary. In a post on her Instagram page, she shared lovely photos and videos of her family, noting how today makes it two years that they agreed to not just a wedding, but a lifetime of showing up for each other.
Describing the experience, she declared that marriage is beyond a ceremony or title, but a daily choice.
She revealed that their marriage has not been a bed of roses, however the urge to keep making things work, and the love between them has kept them going in times of challenges.
Hailing her husband, she appreciated him for choosing her, being patient with her, revealing that she can’t wait to spend forever with him.
She wrote: “Exactly 2years ago nov 11 2023 ago, we said “I do” not just to a wedding, but to a lifetime of showing up for each other. A year later, I can say with full heart that marriage is more than a ceremony or a title… it’s a daily choice. A choice to love when it’s easy, and especially when it’s not. To communicate when words feel heavy. To forgive quickly, to laugh often, to keep growing together❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This first year has been full of lessons, laughter, late-night talks, ups and down and quiet prayers. We’ve seen moments that tested us, but also moments that reminded us just how powerful love can be when two people are truly committed to the same vision – not of perfection, but of partnership.
Marriage has taught me that love isn’t about having it all figured out. It’s about holding each other through the figuring out. It’s about celebrating the little wins, giving grace in the hard times, and never forgetting that at the end of every day, we’re on the same team.
2 year down, forever to go and I’m still amazed at how love keeps evolving, how it keeps deepening, how it keeps teaching me that the best kind of love doesn’t just make you feel special, it makes you feel safe.
