According to a report from DailyPost, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi — the Kaduna-based cleric — told followers on his verified Facebook page on Monday, November 3 (Daily Post reported) that extremists from the three Abrahamic faiths — Islam, Judaism and Christianity — are worsening global instability and threatening peace.
Gumi argued that radical fringes in each religion have twisted core teachings, turning faith into an instrument of violence instead of a force for moral guidance and social cohesion.
He accused religious hardliners of exploiting belief for political and financial ends, stoking tensions worldwide.
Speaking about the Middle East, he blamed militant Zionist groups for using advanced weaponry to displace indigenous people, describing their actions as both divinely rationalized land grabs and systematic attacks on civilians, especially in Palestine.
He also condemned militant evangelical movements in the West, saying they leverage military power and global influence to export their ideology, citing unrest in places such as Venezuela and parts of the Middle East and Africa as examples.
Turning to the Muslim world, Gumi said violent groups have been spawned by a mix of outside meddling and internal weaknesses — with intelligence operations, sectarian divides, poverty and ignorance all manipulated to create and empower terrorists.
He pointed to the consequences of these dynamics in countries including Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Iraq and Nigeria.
In his view, extremists in the three faiths have betrayed their religions’ original messages of peace and charity and are holding humanity “hostage.”
