According to statements released by Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Nigerian politicians have been urged to take prophetic warnings seriously as the country approaches future electoral cycles.
In a message issued through his media office, Ayodele clarified that his warnings are not intended to create fear or controversy, but rather to guide leaders and help prevent avoidable crises within Nigeria’s political environment. He stressed that many of the challenges currently affecting different parts of the country could have been avoided if earlier cautions had been taken seriously by those in authority.
He stated: “Our warnings are for your own good; They are not to condemn anyone but to help the nation avoid unnecessary tension, conflict, and political instability,” emphasizing the advisory nature of his interventions.
Ayodele cautioned political actors against dismissing prophetic messages, noting that ignoring such guidance could result in serious consequences, including internal party disputes, electoral conflicts, and setbacks in governance. He argued that many political crises stem from a failure to act on timely counsel.
The cleric further encouraged politicians to embrace dialogue, transparency, and peaceful engagement as preparations for upcoming elections intensify. He warned that the pursuit of power, when driven by desperation, often leads to unnecessary conflicts that could destabilize the political system.
In addition, Ayodele advised leaders at all levels to prioritize the welfare of citizens above personal or partisan interests. He noted that growing public dissatisfaction could escalate if pressing socio-economic challenges are not adequately addressed.
Reaffirming his role in national discourse, Ayodele maintained that his responsibility is to provide spiritual insight that can contribute to stability within the democratic process. His remarks come amid increasing political realignments and early maneuvering ahead of the next general elections, with observers noting rising tensions across major political parties.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to remain vigilant and prayerful, expressing optimism that the country’s leaders will act wisely and respond to timely warnings in the interest of national peace and development.
