
Senate President Godswill Akpabio, while speaking during the commissioning of a project in Abuja in a video posted on AIT, jokingly challenged former FCT Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda over the absence of project commissioning events during the period they both served in the 8th Senate.
Akpabio recalled that Aduda was a principal officer of the Senate and represented the Federal Capital Territory for several years, yet he could not remember being invited to commission any project in the FCT during that period. According to him, “Senator Aduda, you and I were together in the 8th Senate. How come we never attended one single commissioning or project in the FCT? You know, I have to blame you. You were part of that government. You were even a principal officer in the Senate. You never invited me to follow you to commission one single project.”
The Senate president argued that visible infrastructure projects have become a source of satisfaction for residents of the FCT and political stakeholders alike.
