The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded strongly to critics who claim they have not seen any meaningful development in Abuja, insisting that the ongoing infrastructure projects across the territory are clear for everyone to see.
Speaking in a video shared by News Central TV on Thursday, June 18, 2026, Wike said the responsibility of any government is to provide infrastructure and improve the lives of the people. According to him, the ongoing road projects in the FCT are evidence that the administration is delivering on its promises.
He highlighted the newly completed road in Zuba, explaining that it now connects the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) with Gwagwalada, making transportation easier and improving access for residents in the area. Wike said the project is one of several efforts aimed at extending development beyond the city centre to satellite towns.
The minister expressed disappointment with those who continue to deny that visible progress is being made despite the ongoing projects. He argued that such individuals deliberately refuse to acknowledge the changes taking place across the territory.
In a strongly worded remark, Wike said that anyone who claims not to see the development despite having the ability to do so is choosing to ignore reality. He added, “Those who said they don’t see, may God never allow them to see. Those who intentionally, when God has given you eyes to see what is happening, to see development coming to satellite towns, and you say you are not seeing, may you never see again.”
